Star India extends existing subscription agreements up to May 31

Star in its letter dated 4 May has informed the distributors of television channels in India regarding the extension of its existing subscription license agreement for a fourth time in 4 months.

Star India has extended the existing subscription license agreement executed by distribution platform operators with Disney or Star up to May 31, 2020, as an interim measure. Star has extended its existing subscription agreements multiple times since January 2020.

Star in its letter dated 4 May has informed the distributors of television channels in India regarding the extension of its existing subscription license agreement for a fourth time in 4 months.

This is to inform all distributor of television channels (“DPOs), whose subscription license agreement executed with Star India Private Limited and/or Disney Broadcasting India Limited has expired on April 30, 2020 or is expiring by efflux of time on May 30, 2020 (and have not signed the subscription license agreement version 3 dated 01.01.2020), is further extended for a period ending on May 31, 2020 as an interim measure by way of extension letters, on terms and condition detailed therein. Copies of the said letters have been sent through email.”, Star India said in its letter.

Star had last extended the subscription license agreement on 6 April when it had informed the DPOs about the extension until April 30 as an interim measure.
