Tata Sky users can extend warranty and get free technician visits using Annual Service Commitment

Tata Sky until last year used to offer 3 years full warranty for all new connections but that got reduced to just 1 year, which means if your Set Top Box encountered any problem you not only be charged Rs 150 for each technician visit but also the additional cost of some components.

The DTH Operator is offering a plan called Annual Service Commitment (ASC) that takes away this issue. With ASC, technician visits, STB, LNB, Dish and Adaptor will be covered for 1 year, although, relocation, installation, remote and other parts will remain chargeable.

The price of ASC ranges from Rs 199 to Rs 499. Tata Sky charges Rs 199 if user buys ASC on the day of their connection installation, whereas if ASC is brought within the warranty period then it will cost Rs 299 for primary and Rs 249 for each multi-TV connection and after the warranty ends opting for ASC will be available at Rs 499 for primary and Rs 449 for each add on connection. 

To avail this service, user needs to contact customer service and request for ASC enrolment. After which, a technician​ will visit to carry out a technical inspection of equipment, and then he will get the ASC form which is to be filled and signed by the subscriber.
