Zee Entertainment is all set to expand its South portfolio with the launch of High Definition version of Zee Picchar and Zee Thirai HD. The company on 28th July 2021 amended its Reference Interconnect Offer to facilitate the launch of Zee Picchar HD and Zee Thirai HD. The channels will launch on or after September 5, 2021, once the revised RIO kicks into effect.
“The Change in this RIO has been mandated due to launch of two pay High Definition channels OF ZEEL namely “ZEE THIRAI HD” and “ZEE PICCHAR HD,” said ZEEL in its Reference Interconnect Offer.
ZEEL has priced Zee Picchar HD and Zee Thirai HD at Rs 12 excluding taxes on an a-la-carte basis. DTH & Cable customers will pay Rs 14.16 inclusive of 18% GST to watch Zee Picchar HD or Zee Thirai HD on an a-la-carte basis.
The duo have not been bundled in any broadcaster bouquets for the time being. Zee Picchar HD is a Kannada Movies channel that competes with Star Suvarna Plus, Udaya Movies, Colors Kannada Cinema and similar channels while Zee Thirai HD is a Tamil Movie channel that competes with KTV, Star Vijay Super, J Movies, Raj Digital Plus, Mega 24 and similar channels.
