BBC Studios run popular kids channel CBeebies has strengthened its reach onboarding Airtel Digital TV. CBeebies is now available on Airtel Digital TV at LCN 464 making the service available to Airtel’s customers.

The launch on Airtel Digital TV will now give CBeebies a reach to over 50 million houses. As of July first week, BBC stated that CBeebies reached 33 million homes which has now increased to around 50 million with Airtel Digital TV having a subscriber base of 16.6 million at the end of 31st March, 2020.

The channel can be availed at an a-la-carte rate of Rs 5 (excluding taxes). BBC earlier this year introduced ‘BBC India Bouquet’ at Rs 4 (excluding taxes) which offers BBC World News and CBeebies at a 33% discount vis-a-vis to the sum of a-la-carte MRP of both the channels.

The bouquet however remains unavailable on major platforms wherein both CBeebies and BBC World News are airing with BBC Global News India in talks with multiple platforms to debut the bouquet on their platforms. In case, you wish to subscribe to the bouquet, you can call your DTH/MSO operator and demand for ‘BBC India Bouquet‘.

CBeebies earlier this year relaunched with a soft launch amidst COVID-19 in April onboard Fastway, IMCL, and Akshaya Diginet initially. BBC further expanded the reach of CBeebies onboarding Tata Sky at April end followed by Sun Direct at May start.

Between May to July, CBeebies failed to further expand its presence limited to the platforms it onboarded in April-May. BBC Studios officially announced the relaunch earlier this month wherein it stated that more platforms would be launching the channel in the coming weeks, making the service available in as many homes as possible.
