Buddy, if u have anything constructive to add to the topic of discussion then please do post on the same.... Please stop this constant name calling and giving me baseless tags which ultimately makes it even more seem that indirectly u do not like airtel and do not have anything good to add or reply to my post /comment.

Airtel has done several innovations in past 5 years and far ahead of Tata Play , certain things r pending for reasons i hae already discussed upon and will get implemented gradually....compared to Jio too Airtel performing exceedingly well and as per my experience / what reviews i have read or heard Airtel have far better service quality too...... Lastly has having DBR has no connection with premium service and Airtel is adding FTA, Pay SD as well as HD channels which u do not acknowledge, tomorrow if pending Viacom18 HD channels get added still u and few other members will point to another shortcoming of Airtel and continuously criticise them for it rather than appreciating good steps taken by them...... Just calculate number of SD, HD channels airtel has added in 2024 and see how incase of XStream Box how they have come up with new variants and various innovations and even made huge improvements in its mobile, broadband services....Airtel caters very well to its mass and niche/affluent audience base hence is seeing growth across its businesses and from each customer segment

Pls explain innovations of Airtel in DTH and Fiber. More SD & less HD channels inserted in HD entertainment packs is innovation in DTH? No direct login for Sony, Sun & other apps available in xsteam play is innovation in Fiber? even local ISPs are providing direct login facility in their OTT benefits.

Don't know what these dth companies preferably airtel trying to do..One side they are increasing NCF for its currently active loyal customers and other side it launched 3 years no ncf box and also giving very low price long term offers for deactivated customers.Seems they want people to keep multiple box to wait for offers after deactivation or buy long term no ncf box

Airtel user here. I find dth outdated for the kind of money we pay. Had it not been for my parents' obsession with tamil news channels on linear tv, I would have stopped recharging long ago.

When all DTHs are in self destruction mode, Noone can help them.
This increase will get them only more inactive subscribers

I do agree! I have both Jio fiber and Airtel fiber at home. Airtel fiber has much lower latency compared to Jio. Feels more responsive... Airtel 5G is also much faster and has lower latency than Jio. And it's not only in my locality... I have experienced it in many cities of the country and also in some remote places like some villages in Sikkim. Jio STB is a joke... It won't even work on any other internet but Jio.
Slight increase in NCF is not an issue. But some long pending issues should be addressed by Airtel, like proper 'favorite channels' implementation on both Android box and HD boxes, addition of some good channels, and some 4K channels with good content and no ads and, if possible, broadcast sports channels in 1080P (I know... Not likely!).
Recently, I got their Xstream box with android 12. It is actually really good. Some UI modifications here and there, and it will be almost perfect. So, if a company increases the cost, end users should also get quality services to justify it. Hope Airtel works towards improving their services further. And if they eventually acquire Tata Play, they will have a competitive advantage to implement more features and improve their offerings. Now we gotta see, after acquiring Tata Play, whether Airtel actually does something good or just sit with all the money and infrastructure, do nothing and as a result, slowly fade into oblivion...

Yes, they are trapped in a vicious cycle where they increase price to maintain revenue lost due to customers shifting to OTT but doing that makes even more people move to OTT resulting in further lesser revenue than what they had earlier and the cycle continues

Correct. And also, to justify the increased cost, they do not even provide any additional features or services. The DTH operators need to focus more on R&D and innovation...

Thanks for being curious to know more on this matter..... In various posts across different threads in the past i have highlighted/explained on this in detail, please refer to the same as i cannot again and again rewrite all such points as it is time consuming + takes lot of efforts..... Appreciate ur understanding on this
