Sad News Airtel Digital TV increased NCF charges

I do agree! I have both Jio fiber and Airtel fiber at home. Airtel fiber has much lower latency compared to Jio. Feels more responsive... Airtel 5G is also much faster and has lower latency than Jio. And it's not only in my locality... I have experienced it in many cities of the country and also in some remote places like some villages in Sikkim. Jio STB is a joke... It won't even work on any other internet but Jio.
Slight increase in NCF is not an issue. But some long pending issues should be addressed by Airtel, like proper 'favorite channels' implementation on both Android box and HD boxes, addition of some good channels, and some 4K channels with good content and no ads and, if possible, broadcast sports channels in 1080P (I know... Not likely!).
Recently, I got their Xstream box with android 12. It is actually really good. Some UI modifications here and there, and it will be almost perfect. So, if a company increases the cost, end users should also get quality services to justify it. Hope Airtel works towards improving their services further. And if they eventually acquire Tata Play, they will have a competitive advantage to implement more features and improve their offerings. Now we gotta see, after acquiring Tata Play, whether Airtel actually does something good or just sit with all the money and infrastructure, do nothing and as a result, slowly fade into oblivion...

As far as providing channels in 1080 p is concerned that is upto the broadcasters as operators merely transmit the channels and box upscales the same as per resolution set.... Airtel already adding new channels on regular basis and on features/ innovation front too they r leading in last 5 years..biggest example being that 4 STB models of Airtel XStream box have been launched while Tata Play Binge has had single variant till date so Airtel is not only making improvements for niche segment of customers but even for mass customers there have been several steps taken to improve service offerings ,,product quality and ofcourse their transmission quality is extremely good too

As far as providing channels in 1080 p is concerned that is upto the broadcasters as operators merely transmit the channels and box upscales the same as per resolution set.... Still Airtel is cost effective dth , with top notch PQ /AQ in all the SD / HD channels.

@Rajkumar anna please join the fun ....many members here who have such aversion towards Airtel that they simply cannot withstand to accept or hear anything positive about it.... Won't be engaging in such discussions where i know no matter what i say still their negative viewpoint about Airtel won't change bcoz it is based on mostly on somehow portraying Airtel as being wrong and constantly criticise it for largely smaller shortcomings thereby making it seem as if these r so big or many times without valid reason too.... All this while just acknowledging the various positive aspects

Only good thing in airtel is excellent audio and video quality but if we see the bad things there are many- no Viacom hd music channels, no proper fav system , 30 day lock in , higher ncf ( recent increase), no offers on packs like TP, worst khichdi app, ..so even though it provides best audio and video qualities the negatives are just too many to ignore, over time you have counteracted my points by giving not so convincing/too good to be true explanation and people have kept patients over your false hopes but eventually people realized over time...also you have always said either positive or neutral about airtel but no negative about airtel

Let's examine your explanation/justification for the negatives-

Missing Viacom hd channels: MTV beats is not a popular channels, people don't need it as they watch music videos through ott, channels will be launched soon (fake commitments day after day, month after months and eventually those turning to years and decade is near!

No proper fav system: my family remember all the lcns , I expect 4 digit lcn along with fav soon (again false commitment), fav system with profile exist in xstream box etc

30 day lock-in: this is done to increase revenue and provide better service to customer , all other dth will soon implement this ( in reality it never happened and only airtel has this to loot customer)

Someone pls add more points if you remember...overall I have compiled all explanations provided by him .

Sundirect has superior picture and sound quality except few sd channels compared to remaining dth in India. But the prblm with Bad favorite UI.

excellent video quality?.. seems you haven't watched SD channels in d2h, still my mom angry with me, as i moved to airtel to stop her watching the serials in sun tv , as airtel has poor pq and no fav. system.
