This co incident or not just coming in my mind

Tata Sky performing very good in market until 2022 but suddenly
* just two years ago Sky left
* Ratan tata sir passed away yesterday and just before 24 to 48 hr before news arrived that Deal between Airtel and tata even this going on from December 23. ( mens Tata don't want run Dth business)

Sky was acquired by Comcast and Indian DTH business was not part of the deal so Disney got the stake held by erstwhile Sky (owned by Fox Corp) as part of its acquisition of Fox Corp broadcast assets..... Sky tech team exited Tata Play and later as contract/licence period for use of Sky trademark expired so Tata decided to rebrand its DTH business as Tata Play

That still didn't justify non additions of important channels still missing in ADTV and the endless looong maintenance activities

I don't think that has got to do anything with mergers and acquisitions

It has direct connection buddy.....Already explained one thing is linked to another and for some task to be completed first earlier work needs to completed

If dth want to gain profit then they should focus towards regional channels by keeping 100% on platform because in urban areas mostly subscribers using broadband and fiber connections because of Work from home. That's the reason they are not paying separately for dth.

Tata Play subscribers using Tata Play for its STB UI, customer care service, Best Remote controller, Fair business policy, channel count... etc. If Airtel digital tv buy Tata Play, definitely maximum number of subscribers will move out.

South India moves to Sun direct for lower NCF and North India wants DD free dish to avoid monopolistic charges by Airtel in future.

DTH business will be outdated one. That's why Tata Play is showing interest to exit. Only Airtel Digital TV and DD freedish in North India and Sun Direct in South India will exist.
Videocon D2h also played a factor, making sun direct keeping their packs affordable ,if no dish d2h all remaining dth might increase charges .
