Still remember when Airtel Digital TV migrated its satellite transmission of channels from Insat 4CR to SES 7..... They realigned dishes of subscribers in a phased manner and there were no issues / interruptions in receiving the channels from SES 7 until migration process was completed and ultimately signals were switched off on old satellite..... Also certain customers r hesitant to get dish aligned to new satellite bcoz they aren't aware about technicalities or why it is important hence operators stop adding new channels on the old satellite & instead add it on new satellite few weeks before migration process is to start thereby telling customers that to view these channels dish realignment is needed.

Secondly good thing is that Indian Made satellites have lower rental / lease cost so Airtel would be saving money too thus further helping them invest that in other things to improve / expand service offerings

I don't think that this acquisition talk will move forward now. Ratan Tata sir passed away a few days ago and now Noel Tata has become the new chairman of Tata Trust. If he sells Tata Play, a popular and #1 company in its sector, it will definitely portray him negatively. This will reduce the confidence of investors in them.

Buddy as such Tata Play is making losses and for last few years unable to somehow come up with a strategy to overcome this issue despite trying various things so they will be willing to sell DTH business to reduce debt and as such DTH business does not form part of the core part of their diversified business..... After Sky exited they r also lacking on the tech + innovation front which again is a major drawback as u can see they have not launched any new variant of Binge STB which itself has many shortcomings and even their HD box quality has downgraded over last few years....not only this the channel transmission quality too has remained average or below average despite having adequate satellite bandwidth....lastly since last few months they have not even come with festive offers which again shows they r engaged in serious discussion with Airtel to sell their DTH business

If Airtel is really looking to acquire tata play, then they must have to speed up the process as soon as possible as their current satellite SES-7 is going to expire in nearly six months and it will take almost six months to align dish of all current airtel dth subscribers to tata play satellite

I don't think any of your reasons are showing signs of takeover. All DTHs went into losses and the quality of all DTH equipment also fell. Apart from DishD2H no one is offering festival offers. Both Airtel and Tata Play are compressing channels. Tata Play is constantly adding new channels to its platform which is missing from all other 3 DTHs.
Number of Users leaving Tata Play also went down in last quarter.

There is no need to acquire Tata Play for SES-7. They already using Transponders on SES-9 that located at same orbit as SES-7. They can move their all channels to SES-9 at any time without realignment.
SES-7 already completed its period and not going to expire in 6 Month. It will stay in use till signal lost problems not cause.

On all metrics Airtel Digital TV is performing much better than others.....u can compare data regarding subscriber base , revenues, losses etc.....about audio and video quality and hardware + software quality again Airtel is far ahead.... Dish d2h has far less channels so it can put less compression but considering limited bandwidth Airtel has it still provides very good picture + audio quality.... Yes hardware quality of all operators has degraded in last 10 years but still Airtel still has maintained a certain quality standard whereas incase of other operators be it hardware quality or feature wise like providing Dolby Audio or separate AV Cable Ports here too Airtel still scores over others as be it Dish d2h or Tata Play they have removed these features from their recent HD STB Models and i believe even Dish D2h smart boxes do not provide Dolby Audio and 4K/HDR support

Update

There's Some Lag In This Deal

Tata Play Is Not Ready To Give Up Their Some Of Terms And Conditions, Which Is Worrying Sign For Airtel
Also Tata Play want to have some share likely 10% in this deal they doesn't want sell all its shares to ADTV is it true bro ?
