I think ADTV HD recorder is good.

It's a usb recording ans not HDD I guess.

what is the warranty period of HD DVR. IN tata sky website it shows 3 years annual service commitment.what does exactly it means?
any precautions/suggestions at the time of purchase and installation

Meaning you will get 3 years of warranty on hardware like stb and 1 year free service visit.

1 more question about recorded content.
in sun direct, while playing recorded content, there will be water marks/codes like customer id and other numbers.it annoys on the screen while watching.
airtel doest show any such things while playing recorded content.
what about tata sky recorded content.I think its DVR, so doesn't show any added water marks to recorded content.

Yes there will be TS logo at the bottom, and codes will be the finger print codes of channels that appears time to time for privacy protection

Just make sure during installation u get the best possible signal levels.

Also ask them on what all hardware you get 3 years warranty

My answer was for his question considering he was asking HD DVR box fingerprint code. Broadcasters fingerprint would obviously appear as it's coming from uplinking center boxes.

no ..my question is just about finger print of STB(sundirect showing customer id and seq number on right middle on the screen of recording content ). Not about the codes from broadcaster end.

I called tata sky CC, due to lock down it takes some time for new installation.
not sure how many days it takes .....1day or 2days or 1 week or 1 month.
They said there is refer your friend offer for existing customer, which benefits 200rs for referrer and 200rs for new connection.

I have small doubt.technical team said previously tata sky HD PVR also had 2 wires for 2 tuners.
now 1 wire for 3 tuners,does it cause any quality/signal/hd clarity loss due to splitting single wire to 3 tuners?

I think both tata sky HD PVR and HD are 1080i only.(as per website info)

not sure about present Airtel HD box.Previous Airtel HD DVR also 1080i only.
why not 1080p for HD STBs ?why only 1080i ?

Airtel provides 1080p option in HD STB & I think Tata Sky & dish tv also provide.

No, it doesn't degrade quality because they use a high gain LNB. It's called as Super LNB.
