Sony broadcasted Euro 2016 selected matches 4K and TS showcased it, they might have suffered loss due to high production cost involved & less revenue, that's why Sony decided not to show WC in 4K

totally agree with you bro...4k thing is very expensive as a customer u need too shell out good amount of money to watch 4k content for eg. here in middle east football w/c matches r being telecasted in HD and 4k... for one month that package is for 550 dhs which is nearly 10000rs... here people r not willing to shell or 100rs for HD so u expect people shelling out 200rs or 500rs for one month for a particular tournament

Most people will have HD TV (LED or LCD) only.
How good will it be, watching 4K channel or HD (1K) TV?

You need 3 things to watch 4K contents.
4K TV
4K STB
4K Channel.
No one will go for expensive 4K STB without having 4K TV.
So no question of getting 4K video in LED/LCD even if there's a 4K channel.
Also, DTH companies (TS & D2h) won't provide you 4K content (if available) if you don't have 4K STB.
If you ticked all 3, you get 4K contents free (if available in DTH platform).

More than a year they have not shown any thing in 4k .their 4k boxes are useless.

Why they sell us 4K boxes if they cannot provide 4k channels??
Because 4K TV exist in market. They want to be future proof, ready to add 4K channel when available. The picture quality is superior when you are using 4K stb with 4K TV compared to HD stb on 4K TV.

For now, there isn't any 4K channel available in India. TS added 4K channel in past and will add when it is available from broadcaster.

4K content is not limited to TV channels. You can buy 4K Blu-ray or subscribe to Netflix or other streaming services to enjoy 4K content on TV.
