We Got Same news Last time also.HD channels will be Added in Mid June.But Nothing Happened.
Wish This Time the news will be True.Don't have much expectations on Airtel these days.
Hope it is not false news for the cause of price hike.

Don't think you can transfer, but you can surrender connection and get balance as cash.

yes it is possible to transfer, one airtel dth connection to another airtel dth using two connection merging.
after merging, split both connections.

Just to be on a safer side from a price hike, recharged with Rs 2250 (got instant 150 Rs cashback on PhonePe) and converted Max HD ROI to Max HD ROI ARP. Validity is 12.5 months (includes 2.5 months extra).

So basically I will get Max HD pack at just Rs 168 / month for next 12.5 months. And if I am not wrong, I will also get price protection and future HD channel additions at no extra cost.

I am coming from Tata Sky (switched 2 months back) where I used to pay 175 Rs just for HD access fee. Now I am getting all HD channels on airtel at an even lesser cost. This is super awesome!

PS: I am on myPlan 99 (I least care for SD channels) with 2 free regional combos. So now I am just paying 267 Rs a month on airtel and getting awesome HD picture quality and dolby audio (this is what I care about). I won't complain about few missing HD channels on airtel
