STAR might ready with 5bn$ with 10 linear channels.Amazon Prime, Sony in talks to bid for IPL broadcast rights
Amazon Prime, Sony in talks to bid for IPL broadcast rights
Likely to put up war chest of $3-4 b for auctions in Decwww.thehindubusinessline.com
Actually not, Times had rights till 2014, in 2015 Hotstar outbid Times and had brought rights till 2017 by just paying 302 crores for three years..IPL digital rights with Times Internet, not with Sony from 2008 to 2017. Later Times sold to Hotstar.
Sony never shared the rights with anyone.. They just haven't bid for them aggressively that's it.Sony is doing same thing like 2009 then they went with hotstar now with APV. This is bad sign. They have resources to purchase digital rights. It's a high point for digital growth rather than linear tv
I think STAR bought/shared from TimesActually not, Times had rights till 2014, in 2015 Hotstar outbid Times and had brought rights till 2017 by just paying 302 crores for three years..

That's only for 2014 edition where Star Sports.com had streamed those... From 2015 edition Star India had brought the rights from the auction..I think STAR bought/shared from Times
Star India partners Times Internet for IPL digital rights
While both will market IPL 2014, only STAR India will be responsible for monetisationwww.business-standard.com
Then other companies Tata bye bye Goodbye Gaya
