No doubts. IPL rights will stay with Star. That's why they pretended to be asleep for the last few years. But the deal would be under 25000 crores (who ever grab it). Expecting 35000 crores is greediness.

IPL is very important to Disney especially because of the heavy subscriptions it will bring to overall Disney+ service. Also, the USA Wall Street values IPL highly compared to other CRICKET rights hold by Star India. Its a must for them.

It would be north of 30000 crores for sure if it's a closed auction. Open e-Auction will likely impact in one way or other depending on the companies bidding. Also, whomsoever is gonna be having IPL rights will have to face huge losses in the first year like how Star lost in 2018 due to heavy pay in the first year. Also, Star almost peaked the revenue from IPL and they are just border line profitable. Its interesting to see how the rights holder will be able to maximise the revenue even more.

BCCI settles for e-auction for IPL media rights. It will be released on 10th of February!! Exciting times ahead for the market.

So we should prepare to pay Rs.3000/- as annual subscription (be it D+H or APV or any other) for IPL streaming from 2023.

Exactly. Disney+ Hotstar is very important to Disney because 38% of total subs come from India. Without India, Disney+ wouldn't have crossed 100M subs in a year. Hotstar had just 8M subs in April 2020 before the launch of Disney+.
