Mohanlal-B Unnikrishnan Movie Starts Rolling...

Mohanlal, the complete actor is joining hands with director B Unnikrishnan once again for a thriller. The highly anticipated untitled project recently started rolling. Actor Jayaram performed the first clap at the pooja ceremony.If the reports are to be true, Mohanlal is playing an ex-cop in the movie, which is scripted by director B Unnikrishnan, himself. The actor will join the sets of the movie, after completing Major Ravi's 1971 Beyond Borders.The project, which is a big budget venture, is jointly produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and HG Entertainments. Manoj Paramahamsa, who was the DOP of several popular films including Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, handles the cinematography.
The title of the movie, rest of the star cast, and further details are expected to be revealed soon. According to some believable sources, a top league young actor of Mollywood will essay a pivotal role in the movie.

Mohanlal and B Unnikrishnan have earlier teamed up for three projects, including Madampi, Grandmaster, and Mr Fraud. The actor played a cop in Grandmaster, which emerged as a critical and commercial success.Madampi, the first association of the actor-director duo, was also a successful venture. Mr Fraud, the last association of Mohanlal-B Unnikrishnan team, failed to impress the audiences and emerged as a commercial failure.

Biju Menon All Set To Do Another Comedy...

It seems like Biju Menon has a good number of projects in his kitty. The actor, who is now one of the bankable heroes of Mollywood, is careful about commiting new projects.Interestingly, Biju Menon movies, which are in the lines of comedy have worked out well at the box office. Now, the actor has signed up another project, which would again be a comedy.

The upcoming film will be directed by Vinu Joseph, who is an erstwhile assistant of popular film-maker Rajeev Ravi. The yet-to-be-titled movie will be produced by Shibu Thameens.In a recent interview given to the Times Of India, the director of the film stated that the film will be in the lines of movies like Nadodikkaatu and would have realistic comedy elements. He has also stated that the film will have another co-star along with Biju Menon and they will zero in on the actor in the coming days.
The shoot of the film is expected to go on floors in February 2017. Meanwhile, Biju Menon would be next seen in Ansar Khan's debut directorial venture, which has been titled as Lakshyam. The film has its script written by Jeethu Joseph and also features Indrajith in an equally important role.

Prithviraj’s Vimanam has a romantic angle as well...

Prithviraj's upcoming film Vimanam has generated a lot of curiosity as it has been inspired by the real-life story of Saji M Thomas, a deaf-mute person from Idukki who was in the news for building a light-weight aircraft all by himself.
While everybody presumed that the film would be an inspirational one, the actor revealed recently that it would have a love angle as well. "Vimanam is inspired from Saji's life but it is not a biopic. As its tagline says, 'To fly was his dream...to love was his destiny!' It has a passionate yet innocent love story. While the hero desires to fly, Cupid strikes. You will get to know more on it when watching the film," Prithviraj says.
The movie talks about the entire life of the protagonist. "Vimanam happens in an extended timespan and in two different time periods. Hence, I will have to make some changes in my physical appearance to project the dual looks. The story caught my imagination at the first narration itself and haunted me too," he says.
Vimanam's director, Pradeep M Nair adds that the film will be a big budget one with a lot of computer graphics and sky views. "It will be the first Malayalam movie with the theme of aviation. The film will go on floors on January 20, 2017 and will be shot mainly at Batkal, in Mangalore," he says.

Dulquer Salmaan’s Kammatipaadam Wins A Major Award...

Kammatipaadam, which hit the theatres this year, did garner extremely positive reviews from all sections of audiences. The film, directed by Rajeev Ravi, went on to achieve critical as well as commercial success.
Now, the movie won a major award, that too in the recently concluded 21st edition of International Film Festival Of Kerala. The Dulquer Salmaan starrer won the NETPAC award for the best Malayalam film at the iffk 2016.

The film rightly deserved the award and the makers can definitely be proud of their movie. Kammatipaadam, narrated the life of a group of friends, in the backdrop of the transition of a village to a big city.

Prithviraj's Ezra Gets A New Release Date...

Ezra, the upcoming Prithviraj movie was originally supposed to hit the theatres by the third week of December. Later, the release of the movie was delayed indefinitely due to the theatre strike.
Now, the sources suggest that Ezra will hit the theatres on December 30. In the recently held Vimaanam press meet, lead actor Prithviraj revealed that the team is planning to release the movie on December 30.

If it is not possible, Ezra will only hit the theatres in January 2017. However, the production team hopes they will be able to release the movie for Christmas season itself, as planned as earlier.

Ezra, which is written and directed by newcomer Jay K, is said to be an out-and-out horror thriller. Jay K is the former assistant of Bollywood director Rajkumar Santhoshi and National award-winner Rajeev Ravi.

The movie, which stars Prithviraj in the role Ranjan Abraham, stars popular actress Priya Anand in the female lead. Young actor Tovino Thomas appears as Shafeer Ahamed IAS, a brave police officer.

Babu Antony, Vijayaraghavan, Prathap Pothen, Sudev Nair, Sujith Shankar, debutante Ann Sheetal, etc., appears in the supporting roles. Ezra is produced by Mukesh R Mehta and EV Sarathi, for E4 Entertainment.

Dulquer Salmaan's Jomonte Suvisheshangal Bags A Clean 'U'...

Veteran film-maker Sathyan Anthikkad is all set with his upcoming film, Jomonte Suvisheshangal, which has Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. The film definitely is one of the most awaited movies of the season.
Now, according to the latest reports, the censoring of the movie has been completed and the movie has bagged a clean 'U' certifacte, much like any other Sathyan Anthikkad movie.

Jomonte Suvisheshangal, which is in the lines of a perfect family entertainer, was earlier expected to hit the theatres on December 16, 2016. But, due to the strike announced by the Producers Association, the release of the film has been postponed.

The film features Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role along with Mukesh. The latter would be seen playing the father of Dulquer Salmaan's character in the film.

Gayathri Suresh All Set To Debut In Kollywood...

Popular Malayalam actress, Gayathri Suresh, who made a mark of her own in the Malayalam film industry with her debut movie Jamna Pyaari, is all set to make a mark in Tamil film industry.According to the latest reports, the actress has signed her debut venture in Kollywood. The film, titled as 4G, features musician-turned-actor G V Prakash in the lead role.

It definitely is a dream debut for the actress as the movie is a big one, as far as the cast and the banner are considered. 4G is being produced by C V Kumar and will be directed by Venkat Prakkar, who is an erstwhile assistant of Shankar.

Mohanlal's Munthirvallikal Thalirkkumbol Gets A Clean 'U'...

Mohanlal is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob. The film, marks the comeback of the actor to family man roles.
Reportedly, the censoring of the movie has been completed and the movie is all set to grace the theatres. The movie has bagged a clean 'U' certificate from the censor board.

According to the reports, the film is of 2 hrs and 34 minutes duration and the movie has cleared the censor formalities, without any cuts.

Georgettan's Pooram gets a release date...

Mollywood's had a tough few weeks with films shuffling their release dates. While Mammootty's The Great Father and Dileep's Georgettan's Pooram abandoned their December release, movies such as Prithviraj's Ezra, Dulquer's Jomonte Suvisheshangal and Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkumbol had their releases shifted by a week due to the standoff between the producers and theatre owners.
We have now learnt that Dileep's movie has zeroed in on a Jan 25 release date. The Republic Day weekend would also see Dileep's movie going up against Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil.

The film, directed by Biju Arookkutty, has Dileep playing an indolent youth while Rajisha Vijayan, Vinay Forrt and Renji Panicker play other pivotal roles.

Godha wraps up filming...

Kunjiramayanam director Basil Joseph's upcoming movie Godha, which has Tovino Thomas and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead, has wrapped up filming. The filmmaker took to his social networking page to share the news.
"Finally an official packup. A dream project which we have started in October 2015,went on and on with a long preproduction,starting the shoot in July 2016,and finally concluding in December and to be released to you all in February 2017, literally seen 3 calendar years !! It was such an amazing life and learning experience for me,in every aspect,in film making,managing people,meeting crisis,keeping it calm altogether even under so much of struggle, eventually influencing me personally as well," he posted.

The movie was shot in Palakkad, Palani, Chandigarh, Mohali, Patiala, Nandpur Kesho and Ludhiana, for a time period spanning 5 months, Basil explained. "The amount of effort and hardwork we had put in this movie was so huge,fighting with the climate,different people and administrations,language barriers,logistic issues,change in the financial atmosphere after demonetization, health and injuries of the artists being this a movie involving so much of physical efforts and many more. It was such an incredible team work,from each and every member which made us to move ahead beating all these constraints," he wrote.
