The Lyngsat website gets a redesign, all the pastel colours are gone along with the google adverts. Its still a week out of date though.

Press TV reappears this time its on Measat3 at 91.5E.
A new Christian music channel appears on Asiasat 5 and also turns up on Optus D2.

AUGUST 2013


New product of the month OPTUS super LNBF a 4 head 8 output super LNBF for fixed satellite coverage @ 152E 156E 160E 164E via a single dish.
Asiasat 6 arrives at 120E.

OCTOBER 2013

Several new Indian channels sprout up on AsiaSat 3. There is the usual posts on various forums is it on? is it off? is it still FTA? I have sound but no picture. Is it Mpeg4?
Lotus Movies from Macau change to Multichannel and provide Lotus Six pack Six movie channels Lotus movies , Romance movies , Action Movies , Lotus Premier movies. Western Movies, Box Office Hits. A better collection than Foxtels new offerings and its FREE.
VOA, change programming format into a much tighter and more suitable for distribution, Using blocks of 6 hours they repeat the channel.
BBC world wide launch, BBC multi view specially compiled channels live out of London via Singapore for Australasia these appear in DVBS2 Mpeg4 8PSK FTA for a while, what’s more appealing is they are on IS19 Ku Australia /NZ beam.
AsiaSat 4 C band suddenly is alive with 200 Indian channels again. OH No please encrypt them quickly.
AsiaSat 7 is also pressed into use and channels begin to pop up on that.
Indian cable operators go on strike.
S band on a ku band dish becomes a bit of a craze. But the LNBF are hard to find locally.
Eutelsat expand its satellite cluster at 36 E to cater for the rapidly growing demand in Africa.


NOVEMBER 2013

Freesat launches on Palapa D as part of Indonesias changeover to digital television. Interestingly its via the C band. Its going to be feeding terestrial headend transmitter sites. Along with viewers in remote regions directly.
Astra 1E finally arrives at 160 West its taken near 9 months to make the slow journey across the planet The Pacific Islands are very happy with their new (old) satellite which will link to the PacTv Teleport Facility in Hawaii to provide internet connectivity to many of the Islands
TV Plus on Intelsat19 announce a price drop and new packages. They are struggling to get people to signup the competition from internet and iptv based services is fierce.

December 10th 2013, Australia completes their Analogue TVshutdown. There are estimated to be over 2 million viewers in remote regions left without a tv service. Newspapers and Radio flooded with complaints. “What Bloody pamphlet?”, says one irate viewer from Karumba
