Tata Sky was/is/will be for paisawalas!
if you want CHEAP, go for Airtel or Sun DTH.
Who is charging more here cable vs dth?

If signal is affected. Cable operators fixes for free while DTH operator charges.

If something happens to equipment. Excluding remote cable operators replaces everything at free of cost while DTH charges for even basic stuff like wires.

Cable has higher channel count. So high cost of maintenance. Correct me if I am wrong as I have no technological knowledge on same.

Most cable has local channels which are equivalent of DTH's service channels. These channels are mostly legal nowadays. Here cable is offering for free while it's ridiculously priced on DTH.

I don't even want to get into relocation charges.

At the end of day DTH is charging more than what they offer over cable. In cable your are getting lifetime free service when DTH charges for every little thing. I only use DTH because of 1 day lock in period which helps me save money. DTH with 30 day lock-in period should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off users.
We are indeed talking about common interest. Majority of the 1.2 billion people still live in villages in India. Number of small villages is way higher than number of cities, towns in our country. If rules are formed considering only cities and towns, what happens to those who live and operate businesses in villages.

Think beyond our home. Our street. Our city. There's a bigger world outside of it.
Villagers are fine with getting no pay channels for ₹153 when they were getting popular channels for ₹80?

in my village the LCO has less than 60 customers left (over 150 customers switched to DTH in last year) the DTH dealer's business has increased in last year.

funny thing is here in my village people says they don't even want STB in Cable, they don't want clear picture, their ONLY demand is give TV channels how the cable line used to provide w/o any STB like 2014/15.🤷‍♂️

Same here in small cities. It is because of NCF. If it was less. 1 day lock in period wouldn't be required. Ideal budget for tv in most houses is ₹200. If ₹153 goes on only for the connection. What are they supposed to buy for those extra 50 bucks?

Pick n drop of a pay channel without charge on same day is still working in TATA SKY? any change in this offer after amendments in Tariff Order from March 2020?

It will continue as tatasky is premium service provider

Maybe in future all premium channels are going to available online only and non popular channels for cable tv. Channel selection process with NCF is very bad concept i think. If Trai bring back the old rules again, everything will be fine.

Ad revenue is not enough for pay channel industry. Broadcasters don't get shares from NCF amount. It's for MSO and LCO.

broadcasters stop need to rely on their channel's price.
reason why free channels like B4U gets more advertizements than paid channels (Max,StarGold, etc.)

MSO and LCO also gets upto 20% price of MSO and LCO. It's a win-win situation for them.

Then what's stopping B4U from premiering or even airing high budget movies? Subscription revenue is also required along with advertising revenue.
