broadcasters stop need to rely on their channel's price.
reason why free channels like B4U gets more advertizements than paid channels (Max,StarGold, etc.)
It's a shame to compare B4U with Max, Gold, Zee. B4U never broadcast latest premium movies. They broadcast some lame old movies for which they have to pay a very low amount for satellite rights..

Subscription revenue is about 70% and advertisement revenue about 30% for pay channel. But here issue is pay channel are sacrificing ads for maximising subscription. NTO has disturbed the delicate equilibrium. This regime is new. Every broadcaster/DPO want max slice of bread without caring for ads.

Same library is repeated for ages. I bet advertising rates are much cheaper on these channels than pay movie channels.

Also target audience of advertisement varies. Advertisers might be interested in selling cars on Colors Infinity while some Baba would be selling his churan on Dangal channel.

what IF broadcasters like Sony, Zee, Star starts offering their GEC & Movie channels less than 10rs/m (like it was before NTO) and pricing the Sports, Infotainment & English channels more than 20/m (keeping them outside bouquet) after march 2020 ?!

Yes, advertisement rate for B4U movies is around Rs 290 per second while for Sony Max it is about Rs 1200 per second.

Feels like DTH operators are getting the benefit from this new regime
Last April I spoke to some cable operators. They were like broadcasters are the ones most profiting from NTO along as they no longer have to negotiate with MSO and offer discount based on MSO's reach or market share. After seeing shutdown of channels and reduction in advertising revenue. Dunno who is more profiting. But customers are losing.

There are loopholes broadcasters can and will use. Even if they don't many unaware customers won't move away from broadcaster bouquet. As they were already confused about NTO. Hence, increase in the rates of other channels of bouquet. We need to remember tv is more than just 10-15 flagship channels.

I think STAR might place its premium GEC & Sports channels (like Star plus & Star Sports1) out of boutiques. Other broadcasters might willing to reduce a la carte to Rs.12.

It will be stupid idea to do so. Last thing any stake holder now want is confusion. Many non techy saavy users will have to sit with pen and paper to decide what to buy and not.

Sports channels should be out of bouquet as it's not every evening's saas-bahu thing that everyone will watch Sports channels everyday.

Broadcasters should provide GEC & Movies in 1 bouquet (with different regional language), and English & Infotainment in another bouquet. leaving Sports in a-la-carte only.

back in January 2018 I requested Broadcasters to launch Genre wise Bouquets, INSTEAD they provided mix of every genre's channels in their bouquets, confusing the consumers more..
