Sports channels should be out of bouquet as it's not every evening's saas-bahu thing that everyone will watch Sports channels everyday.

Broadcasters should provide GEC & Movies in 1 bouquet (with different regional language), and English & Infotainment in another bouquet. leaving Sports in a-la-carte only.

For dth it's fine. For cable not. Matches happens every month. Imagine queuing up at lines in cable office to get channels activates which doesn't happen asap like on DTH. Also Tata Sky's portal goes in coma during India's matches.

This is the exact reason Sony Ten 3 is added in Sony's basic bouquets.

but I remember once I changed my father's SITI package from SITI website by logging in via Subscriber ID.

Also Tata Sky's portal goes in coma during India's matches.

faced this issue on DishTV & Airtel DigitalTV 's website too.

I think STAR might place its premium GEC & Sports channels (like Star plus & Star Sports1) out of boutiques. Other broadcasters might willing to reduce a la carte to Rs.12.

I dont know what are you talking about. Broadcasters already revealed their bouqets and ala carte channel price after the new amendment 2020. They are strongly against it. They are not reducining any premium channel price. They are still offering Rs 19 channel on same bouquets with increased price. It's going to effect from 1st feb 2020. they are also going to take legal option.

Not everyone's choice is same. we dont watch gec channel except zee bangla. But i watch sports channel regularly if any live matches there. i love sports and movies but tv serial..

Not a single broadcasters has revealed NTO 2020 prices.

All were down except STAR for NTO in 2018. STAR was only fight against TRAI in Courts for months.

it's NOT NTO 2020.
the deal which was made in last year b/w Broadcasters & DPOs are going to expire on 31st January, so to renew the deal, Broadcasters has revealed the bouquets with some changes, which will be effective from 1st Feb that you said.

But the NTO prices will be revealed on 15th January, and will be effective from 1st march.

Consider it as an business agreement. If you are doing business with a client under an agreement, and if it reaches the end of term, you need to renew the agreement to continue business with him even if it is for a single day.

The current RIO ends on Jan 31 2020. If DPOs has to carry the channels from 1st Feb 2020, they have to renew the agreement. And for this new term, broadcasters (Star in this case) have released a fresh rate card. This new rates will be applicable from 1st Feb 2020.

Now, these new RIO released by various broadcasters are as per Telecom Tariff Order 2017. However TRAI has made amendments to this act and released a Telecom Tariff Order (2nd amendment) 2020, which is discussed in a separate thread.

So, in order to comply with the new amendment broadcasters have to release another RIO which abides the new rules. This will come into effect from 1st March 2020.

Now the question arises why new tariff for just 1 month. Because as said above, it is mandatory to renew agreement when it expires. And it is the right of broadcasters to fix the rates for their channels.

Also they would be optimistic, to get some kind of court ruling to postpone the enforcement of new amendment. If such case arises, then this new tariff will be continued until the case is settled.

Yes now i understand.. i missed that part. but i am sure that this RIO going to stay for some months. after some legal war against trai they are going or not going to make another RIO.

every broadcasters MUST NEED to release their revised prices on 15th January, and provide the pricing infos to DPOs by 31st January, and Customers need to subscribe new plans from 1st February to 29th February, which will be effective from 1st march.
