May be he has taken ARP and validity is shown according to ala carte subscription. This happens in Airtel.

This is actually a bug from Airtel, sometimes validity shows for 3+ years also

You can change on airtel thanks, but it is difficult. If you want to change pack, then you can change on selfcare as no changes happened there,so you can do it easily.
