Ajay Devgn opts out of Vishal Bhardwaj's Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola

Not too long ago, it was reported that maverick director Vishal Bhardwaj would be making his next film Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola with Ajay Devgn and Anushka Sharma in lead. Though the film was all set to go floors in November, it has now hit troubled waters with Devgn walking out of the film.

If what we hear is anything to go by then apparently Ajay has opted out of the film as his dates were clashing with Ashwini Dhir's film Son Of Sardar. However, seemingly unaffected by this set back, it is said that Bhardwaj has settled for another actor to play the lead.

Both Ajay and Vishal remained unavailable to comment.

Big B feels nervous before shooting for The Great Gatsby

The legendary Amitabh Bachchan has gone on record to say that he is nervous and apprehensive before the shoot of his $120 million Hollywood project Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby that stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire. Big B, who is presently in Sydney, said that the (proverbial) "butterflies are as large and as huge as the Transformers monsters in the film" that he breezed through on the flight.

He also tweeted, "Starting work tomorrow morning .. new environs, new systems, new colleagues, new set up ..new nerves and fresh butterflies! So Sydney it is, in Australia...and its pleasantly cold, even though Summer is round the corner ... shooting for Great Gatsby". He added, "It has been a delight to be associated with a production that must in my opinion and limited experience, be described as incredible. The sheer level of management to detail and correctness in every sphere is by itself an exercise in the ultimate. And why not. When history shall refer back to the effort made in restoring the contents of a literary work on film, they must indeed have the perfection of detail, if not anything else, in homage to the author. It would require an entire chapter and many more to describe all that one experiences on such occasions, but it would be an infringement of contractual obligations if I were to indulge in them and hence what I am able to say without hesitation is that when I do get an approval of sharing my thoughts you and all the Ef shall perhaps be the first to listen in."

News is that the said film is a romantic drama that follows the life of midwesterner Nick Carraway who moves to Long Island, New York and becomes drawn into the glamorous life of his neighbour Jay Gatsby. But, Nick soon discovers that the lives of the nouveau riche are not all what they seem from the outside.

Emraan Hashmi- Dilli's new dhadkan

To measure an actor's popularity one does not need a popularity check meter. Especially in the case of an actor like Emraan Hashmi, the fans make it a point to tell with their presence what the actor means to them. This is exactly what happened in Delhi recently when Emraan was shooting for the movie JANNAT 2. It seemed like the whole of the capital was out and about just to get a glimpse of their favourite actor. "His popularity has gone up many folds after MURDER-2. What we have witnessed in Delhi is one example of that very fact," says filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.

The popularity has gone up so much that logistically it has become a nightmare of sorts to shoot even a scene in the outdoors with Emraan, without a delay. The shoot of a sequence that used to finish in a day's time, now takes at least three days to finish because a lot of time goes in managing the crowd. "He is like a silent storm. When you take an elephant to Delhi you can't expect not to have crowd waiting to watch it. The same way, you can't expect not to have a crowd when Emraan is on the streets shooting," says Bhatt.

Emraan will be shooting in Delhi for a month for JANNAT-2. The movie is being directed by Kunal Deshmukh. He had also directed the 2008's hit JANNAT. Previously this movie was titled INFORMER. Emraan plays the role of an informer in this movie.

Prateik

If you don't believe in ghosts, then this is not the story for you. There's an eerie story secretly doing the rounds among the cast and crew of " My Friend Pinto".

Apparently a lot of the crew members, including Prateik, director Raghav Dhar and producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, felt late actress Smita Patil's presence while shooting with her son Prateik.

"We don't know what it was. But we certainly felt something. Smita inspired me to sign Prateik. I was a big fan of hers," Bhansali says.

Says a crew member: "At times it was chilling. Not just Prateik or the director, many of us felt a presence. We don't know what or who it was. But there was definitely something there."

Prateik has said in an interview to IANS that he would like to break away from the constant comparisons with his mother. However that seems unlikely considering Smita is a constant in her son's life.

"We felt as though she was watching over us all through. It was more than uncanny," says a source close to the film.

"It came to a point where we began to feel she was physically present during the shooting. We don't know how close Prateik feels to his mother at other shootings. But here she was with us all through. We firmly believe Smita was watching over her son," says the source.

For a sequence where Prateik's character had to talk about his mother, the young actor expressed reservations.

"Prateik didn't want to do the scene where his character talks about his mother. We convinced him it was necessary. When Prateik finally did the sequence he went into a kind of trance while speaking his lines," says the source.

Speaking of the sequence Bhansali said: "Prateik was so close to his own mother at that point that we could almost see her standing next to Prateik."

"It was clear that he was addressing his own mother. He finally broke down while talking about his mother," the source adds.

"Though I didn't have the good fortune of working with Smita, I saw her in every gesture in Prateik. He is uncannily like Smita. The title and Prateik's name in the film - Pinto - came from a Smita starrer 'Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai'. Smita was there throughout the making of the film," Bhansali says.

Hrithik Roshan injures his back on sets of Agneepath

Pain seems to be ailing Bollywood's superheroes to no end. First it was SRK and his knee pain, then Salman Khan and his nervous ailment and now it's the turn of Hrithik Roshan, who was last spotted at the Breach Candy Hospital undergoing MRI scan of his back. Reports have it that the actor apparently hurt his back very badly and that he has been advised complete bed rest for about fifteen days, which has now resulted in the cancellation of Agneepath's shoot for a while.

Rumors are afloat that, there was a particular scene in the film which Hrithik was shooting for, wherein he was supposed to lift a fighter, who weighed almost a whopping 110 kgs. It was just after the scene that his back came under tremendous pressure. But Rakesh Roshan had a different story to say. He rubbished the story of lifting the bulky fighter. He reasoned that Hrithik was a bit overworked as he was busy shooting back to back for his dance show and the said film, due to which he is stressed and needs to rest.
