You are confusing NCF with MRP. First of all, if you pay 10 rupees for a pay channel to the broadcaster that is not enough, you also need to pay NCF to the DPO. So, you need to choose the channels wisely so that you don't go to the extra NCF slab. If you are filling your 100 channel NCF slab with only free channels, it's a sheer waste. Because for pay channels, you need to buy a second slab of NCF by paying 20 rupees. So choose your 100 channels as a combination of your absolutely necessary FTA+Pay channels and pay the MRP of pay channels on top of the NCF of 153.
Absolutely clear now bro. Good work @Siva bro. Now only i got to know that we have to pay extra ncf for more than 100 channels (even it is a pay channel).

Simple bro 100 channels for any pay channel or free channels pay min Rs130 plus tax every additionally Rs20 plus tax for 20 channels.each pay channel add MRP plus tax addition to RsRs130+tax=Rs153 ie if we add just one pay channel of Rs 10 balance 99 free channels my bill will be Rs153+(10+tax)=11.80 so total will be 164.80

Can we send mail to TRAI about this exact situation.
Any mail contact, can we get reply by detailed explanation?:cautious:

I think we must oppose this new scheme without any compromise.
Because, If we accept this scheme now, these broadcasters would increase their channels' price from Rs.19 to Rs.50 in the year 2020..
Who knows???
😡😡😡😡😡

Only way to show our opposition is "BOYCOTT WATCHING TV".

That's a good idea as Virat Kohli/MSD/Rohit will not then get 20 crore each from our money

Of course I'm sure. The article is just reiterating the fact that customer has the choice, that's all. It's not waiving off the MRP of pay channels!
But again we have updated version of the news article published yesterday with following addition:
In the press statement TRAI has said, “Consumer has complete freedom to choose their desired 100 Standard Definition (SD) channels within the network capacity fee of maximum Rs 130. The desired channels could be in a-la-carte, Free to Air channels, or Pay channels or bouquet of pay channels or any combination thereof. The choice completely rests with the consumers.
This means that the 100 channels being offered in this base pack of Rs 130 can all be decided by the consumer. These 100 channels can be from free to air or paid channels also or the bouquet of channels being showcased by the broadcaster. How a user decides this 100 channel combination is entirely up to them.

What's say now ?

That's always been the case, except for DD channels. Customer is free to choose channels, who says otherwise?

If DD channels need not be considered in counting the 100 channels, TRAI should make an explicit statement or order clarifying it.

agreed, and if you want you can have 75 paid channels or free channels thats upto the consumers but they will have to pay for every pay channel in addition to NCF Rs153 + pay channels price which will be costly and may go up to Rs.900/month so only choose channels which are essential to you and which are most important channels as per your requirement
