The makers of the film have decided to change the release date of the movies, owing to the demonetisation of 500 and 1000 rupee notes, which has come in to effect from November 9, midnight.

Jeyamohan to script the Tamil version of Karnan...
87961cfbec33a6b7191527963d95234a.jpg

Director R S Vimal is seemingly leaving no stone unturned for his upcoming multi-lingual Karnan. The filmmaker has roped in the services of acclaimed scriptwriter B Jeyamohan for the Tamil version of the Prithviraj starrer.
Jeyamohan, who is also the scriptwriter of Rajinikanth's 2.0, confirms the news. "I will be co-writing the Tamil version of Karnan with Vimal. It's got a pan-Indian appeal, with mythological elements from the Mahabharatha," he says.
On the film, the writer says, "It's got a wide canvas in which we will showcase the entire life of Karnan rather than just focus on his phase as a warrior. In a nutshell, you could say the movie is Mahabharatha from the point of view of Karnan."
The movie is reportedly being made in four languages — Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. "The movie is made on a massive budget with the best technical team in the country, so it's mandatory for it to be a multi-lingual," says Jeyamohan, who has also scripted movies such as Kaviya Thalaivan and Kadal in Tamil.
For a scriptwriter who started out with grounded subjects in movies such as Ozhimuri in Malayalam and Angadi Theru in Tamil, he has been increasingly called upon to write scripts for big budget movies such as Shankar's 2.0.
Ask him the reason and he says, "Frankly, big budget movies are the need of the hour in film industries. They have a minimum guarantee while small films are riskier. People would go to theatres to watch an epic movie such as Karnan that is made in 3D but if it's a small movie they would rather wait for the DVD to release. You need massive projects to sustain film industries these days."

Sunny Wayn and Midhun’s next will be based on an ‘alamara’...

Director Midhun Manuel Thomas has always been known for his experimental movies. After the comedy road movie Aadu and the family entertainer Ann Maria Kalippilanu, he is all set to do a satire titled Alamara.
The film will see the director once again teaming up with the Ann Maria Kalippilanu hero, Sunny Wayn. On the film, Midhun says, "There's a custom of gifting a cupboard (alamara) to a newly married bride along with the dowry. Alamara talks about a young couple and their comical experiences after a cupboard enters their lives," says Midhun adding that it would be different like his previous films.
Meanwhile, Sunny is elated to work with the director of his previous film yet again. "I have been waiting for a good script and finally it is happening. The film written by John Manthrickal, the co-writer of Ann Maria Kalippilanu, is based on true events. Hence the thrill is double. It is going to be a fun family entertainer," he says.
Alamara will start rolling in Bangalore on November 15 and is expected to release in February 2017.
Apart from Sunny, the movie has Renji Panicker playing his dad's role and also Saiju Kurup, Aju Vargheese, Indrans and Sudhi Koppa doing
pivotal roles.
