Hi,

To be frank I am very new to this FTA craz.

I brought a STB BEETEL S11 about an year back. Now it it getting outdated almost.

I want to go for a new one. I see lot of names for STB. Not sure which is good and supports all the latest video formats. As you know today's niche technology is obsolute tomorrow!

I want to go for a good brand.

S29 from beetel..I doubt whether all formats are supported by it. Other issue is its service support.

If beetel is not good, pls give me the specificaitons which I need to look into when buying a good STB which has good support and also support all the new formats/modulations/symbol rate etc...I am not very techy in this area. Please suggest some good brand names.

Please help me sir.

Regards

Not much into FTA either, but 1 think i can say, cjheck for Blind Search efore buying.
Vinay or Vikram might be able to suggest some great ones...

Beetel S29 cannot tune above symbol rate 30MsPs in MPEG4 DVB-S2. So better avoid Beetel. :no

The symbol rate should be from 2MsPs to 45MsPs range in both QPSK and 8PSK modulation.
Do as Vikram ji said. Get a SOLID MPEG4 HDS2 2100 (DVB-S2, HD with USB Recording) :tup

Thanks to all who has give me lot of info.

When I was browising thru the shops I came across a name PAGARIA. Any idea about that. Which model?

As recommended SOLID MPEG4 HDS2 2100 (DVB-S2, HD with USB Recording). What is PVR...is it part of the model name or specification.

1)Does it support HDMI output?
2)Does it support BLIND SCAN?
3)Does it support CAM?
4)What about MULTI CAS systems?
5)Is it Linux based?
6)Is it upgradable at a later stage (we know technology changes by hour!!!)
7)Is it Indian Manuf or China import? How is the service support?

I am not much technical in this. I got the above question while browsing thru the post :)

Sorry if I am asking too many questions.

Please help me. Thanks in advance.
