Aashiqui 2 is no surprise,vishesh films had a second output deal with utv movies from many years with crook and other movies. so star got them through utv movies,its not a new deal and sony recently only renewed older vishesh films movies like ghulam

Entirely wrong understanding about what has happened. This is not 2nd output deal but infact sony's agreement for these films ended and star is new partner.

What scenario u r talking about would have been correct if sony still held rights of aaahiqui 2, murder 2, crook etc and for certain period 2nd output partner would have got rights to eventually return back like it happens for disney films on star movies, and flix, movies now.

Also sony had agreement with vishesh films for last 5 or 6 yrs but slowly marked period for each film expired, they got newer films leaving old ones and now even new film deal is signed with star/disney. All those 90s films they got were during ongoing partnership. Vishesh films has films sourced to various broadcasters under diff arrangements
