Chennai MSOs petition to TN CM

The meeting is between Digital MSOs and TN CM..not by the LCOs.. and their request is not about Arasu cable service.

As DAS is not implemented in chennai, their DAS license and purchsed STBs, is getting idle. They reporting it to CM and asking Digital implementation in chennai as soon as possible.

Yes, but the electoral promise and policy of the government is to make the cable business a govt enterprise and make Arasu the sole MSO, wed can see this mostly achieved in places other than Chennai.

This is the reason why when Chennai has got over 11+ DAS licensed MSO, no LCO wants to do DAS with them as they expect Arasu to takeover the cable service any time and DAS implementation would go waste if LCO's go with any Private MSO's.

So unless CM makes a real Arasu takeover or permits some neutral MSO to carry on with STB supply there can never be a DAS implementation more than 25% unless TRAI really does something which seems less possible, so this meeting means a lot to Chennai's DAS implementation.

One more day and of the CM meets these people then Chennai would get a decent cable service and if they don't meet then the situation may not change in near future.

Definately we can expect some news from govt regards Arasu after this meeting on tomorrow..

If they bring cheaper price cable service in chennai as some of u mentioned 300 channels for 160Rs, i'm pretty sure that even DTH subscribers dont hesitate to buy Arasu STB...:c

Any updates if the CM had some time to meet this people and come to a decision regarding providing Quality cable to the people of Chennai?

As expected the meeting doesn't seem to have happened.

So no change in Chennai cable may happen anytime sooner. :angry :angry

Unless CM steps in and does something there will be no end to this ordeal, and we shall pay Rs 100 for some 30 - 40 channels without a choice.
