and because of this overburden they are able to provide only 8 Full HD channels out of more than 25 HD channels available in India

bro upscaling does not give that quality which broadcasting originally at 1080i resolution gives plus sd chs telecast at 4:3 aspect ratio thus even upscaling it wont give u the picture which is even near to a 16:9 aspect ratio, 1080 i resolution pic of a hd channel

My d2h STB is having only 1080i not 1080p when I tried to change the picture resolution..

My TV is not Full HD. It is HD ready only. But it is showing 1080i 50Hz. I think HD ready is only 720p. Isn't it?

your tv is showing the signal it receives from the stb, ur tv will automatically downscale it to 720 p

Dear satelliate broadscat is all 1080i, 1080p for satellite broadcasd doesn't exists, its for blurays, if you want to check the quailty of picture then check the bitrate of channels comming, highest one i checked was for asiasat 5s channels about 10 to 12mb/s, and also dialog hd about 8to10, and lowest was of indian channels getting about 4 to 6max, where as if you check the bluray its about 25 to 30 and mkv rips of blurays good ones are about 10 to 14. also all the indian dth channels are mpeg sound not true Dolby digital of acc seprarte stream sorry to say about 128k to 200max vbr.
